CT of the Abdomen

Basics: What is a CT of the Abdomen?

Discussion of above images:

CT Imaging has become the gold standard for assessing abdominal pain due to the fine detail obtained, with little prep time and a super fast exam. This patient was experiencing abdominal pain after chemotherapy treatment. The images discovered a fluid collection on the abdominal wall at the location of the pain. An incidental finding was recurrance of colon cancer as evidenced by the thickening of the sigmoid colon.
