MRI of the brain is the most common MRI study ordered today because of the ability of the MRI scanner to see deep into the tissue and show fine details of brain structure. With the 3 T MRI, the white and gray matter is well defined and easily seen. In the following images, a small lesion is located along the midline floor of the cranial fossa. The patient was sent to us from a neurosurgeon to further evaluate the extent of the tumor for both surgical and radiation planning.
